Recombinant Human IL-11 Protein
Interleukin-11 (IL-11) is a pleotropic cytokine closely related to IL-6 in function, but is overall one of the lesser characterized interleukins. In hematopoietic cell populations, IL-11 is thought to inducemegakaryocyte differentiation. In non-hematopoietic populations, IL-11 is thought to be able to stimulate hepatic acute-phase proteins. Human IL-11 can stimulate murine cells. Recombinant Human IL-11 is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain.
Human IL-11 is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The ED50, as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of T11 cells, was found to be less than 2 ng/ml.

Sterile filtered white lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Lyopohilized with no additives.
Centrifuge vial before opening. When reconstituting the product, gently pipet and wash down the sides of the vial to ensure full recovery of the protein into solution. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized product with sterile water at a concentration of 0.1 mg/ml, which can be further diluted into other aqueous solutions.
Lyophilized product is very stable at -20°C. Reconstituted material should be aliquoted and frozen at -20°C. It is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
Protein Content determined by
UV spectroscopy at 280 nm. Analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
