Exosomes are small lipid spheres around 40-150nm in diameter that form within the cell. Exosomes contain and protect various RNA and protein cargos which are secreted into the blood and other bodily fluids. Exosomes are taken up by nearby and distant cells where their cargo can profoundly influence cellular activity. Consequently, there is interest in the potential of exosomes as vectors for gene therapy. In addition, many groups are now working on diagnostic products which can detect disease based on analysis of exosomes recovered from blood, urine, saliva and other body fluids.
Cell Guidance Systems is building a range of innovative products to support your exosome research.
Our exosome assay and detection reagents allow you to measure exosomes, with greater efficiency than ever, even in unpurified samples such as blood plasma and cerbrospinal fluid.
We work with leading labs to accelearte the adoption of new technologies. Please contact us if you have a technology that would be of interest to the exosome field.
