Freeze Drying Service
Freeze drying is a process whereby volatile molecules such as water or other solvents are removed from non-volatile material using a vacuum.
Samples are kept frozen during the process so the water molecules are primarily removed by sublimation (solid-to-gas transition) rather than evaporation (liquid-to-gas transition). Freeze drying retains the structure of the non-volatile material which can better retain bioactivity. For example, exosomes that have been subjected to freeze-drying retain therapeutic bioactivity.
Cell Guidance Systems uses freeze drying as part of our production process for exosomes (please see example of product here) and for other products. Based on our years of experience, we offer a cost-effective freeze-drying service for research use only.
