Description
Interleukin 2C126S (IL-2C126S) is a cytokine primarily known for activating T cell proliferation. It also stimulates proliferation and differentiation of B cells, natural killer cells, monocytes, and macrophages. IL-2 is critical for the development, survival, and function of CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells, which promote T cell tolerance by suppressing their responses to self-antigens, inhibiting immune responses and preventing autoimmune diseases.
Activity Assay
Human IL-2(C126S) is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The activity is determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of CTLL-2 cells, and it is typically less than 3 ng/ml. This corresponds to an expected specific activity of ≥ 3.3 x 106 units/mg.
