DescriptionTumor Necrosis Factor Receptor type 1 (TNF Receptor 1) is expressed in most tissues and is activated by soluble and membrane-bound Tumor Necrosis Factor α (TNF-α). TNF Receptor 1 activates NF-kappaB and MAPK pathways to induce inflammation, promote apoptotic cell death, inhibit tumorigenesis, and inhibit viral replication.
Activity AssayHuman TNF Receptor Type 1 is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The activity is determined by the neutralization of human TNF-α and it is typically less than 100 ng/ml. This corresponds to an expected specific activity of 1.0 x 104 units/mg.
