Recombinant Rat RANTES / CCL5
Induced chemotaxis of human THP-1 cells assay for Rat RANTES. Cells that migrated were counted using a luminescent substrate. Migration over basal levels was reported in response to Rat RANTES starting at 10 ng/ml.

DescriptionRegulated upon activation, normal T cell expressed and secreted (RANTES), also known as CCL5, is a chemokine produced by T cells three to five days after T cell activation. RANTES signals through G protein-coupled receptors CCR5, CCR3, CCR1, and through the human CMV-encoded viral receptor US28. RANTES functions to recruit immune cells to inflammatory sites.
Activity AssayRat RANTES is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The activity is determined by the ability to induce chemotaxis of THP-1 cells.
